Periods of transitioning and it can be really difficult.
In every business there are periods of transitioning and it can be really difficult. There are those times when you realise that what worked for the business before just is not working anymore and changes need to be made. Then sometimes things are going well but you have to adjust in order to improve and get better. Transitioning calls for patience, focus, endurance and also faith. It can be a scary experience as well because you are leaving what has become familiar and going into unknown waters. (almost like starting over) You can become uncertain because you do not really know what to expect and become concerned about what might go wrong. So many things go through your mind it can be overwhelming. But take courage.
As your business grows and expands there are things that will change just as you have or will change over the next couple of years. I am certain that who you are when you started your business is not the person you are now. You have more insight, a greater understanding of the business world and what is required, this will definitely impact how you conduct your business.
Decisions have to be more intentional and that means looking at things from a more strategic standpoint. The people who were with you in the beginning might not be able to continue with you as you go on. As your business evolves you might find yourself interacting with different clients-different expectations of your company can arise. And as expectations arise your business has to shift gears i.e transition.
This process can be somewhat intimidating but if you allow yourself to go through the process and do what is necessary your business and you as an individual will soar higher and be more successful that you ever thought.
Remember Joseph? The young adolescent upstart who was a tattletale and kind a pain to his brothers? Could God at that stage entrust him with a kingdom? I don’t think so. He had to go through so much tweaking in order to become the second most powerful man in Egypt after Pharoah. During the process I am sure that he felt like he was not making any headway- especially when he left Potiphar’s house and ended up in prison. At times what we perceive as a backward step or no movement actually might just be a re-positioning for the next phase.
So think of transitioning as preparation for greater and that you are actually getting into position for the next big shift in your business. The discomfort and uncertainty you feel is as a result of the re-positioning that is taking place. Isn’t that exciting? You are on your way, you finally got to a place where you get to shift gears! Your business is growing and moving into its purpose –Congratulations!
